The update with minor version 26.4 for the Dynamics 365 Business Central 2025 release wave 1 is generally available.
Scope of minor version 26.4
The producer’s information about the update, detailing the scope and changes included in minor version 26.4, can be found on the documentation page: Update 26.4 for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central online 2025 release wave 1 ↗. The list of hotfixes included in the update is available in the Microsoft support entry (link ↗).
Feature changes
Minor update 26.4 introduces the following feature changes:
- the functionality of the Sales Order Agent is significantly enhanced – the agent will read attachments from emails, handle customers with different ship-to addresses, trigger the Capable-to-Promise function, and create a sales order without a prior sales quote (link to the updated article ↗); the agent’s availability in the public preview is also expanded to following countries: Denmark, Germany, Italy, France, and Spain,
- the autofill with Copilot function can search the web through Bing to provide better suggestions for field values (link ↗, feature currently available in public preview and only in sandbox environments).
- in terms of e-document functionality, support for the ZUGFeRD format is added for the German localization (link ↗, functionality released in general availability).
Hotfixes
Version 26.4 also includes a set of hotfixes for the application (this minor version did not introduce any platform fixes) (link ↗):
This time, what caught my attention were:
- the Aged Accounts Receivable report and the Aged Accounts Payable report prioritize the most recent Posting Date instead of the Posting Date of the latest entry, which causes faulty reports (582250),
- fix for the error that prevented to run Implement Standard Cost Change action on the Standard Cost Worksheet for items with non-inventory BOM components, with the option Include Non-Inventory Items to Produced Item enabled in Manufacturing Setup (575938),
- fix for the error causing the creation of incorrect Reservation Entries for items with item tracking enabled and Order Tracking Policy set to Tracking & Action Message (575956),
- fix for disappearing Expiration Date values from Item Tracking Lines when adding or modifying values in the Promised Delivery Date field on the Sales Order (580018),
- fix for the error causing the creation of duplicate Warehouse Pick documents when running the Create Pick report simultaneously (580005),
- fix in creating Warehouse Pick documents for Production Orders without Lot No. values for lot-tracked items (591479).
