The update with minor version 25.2 for the Dynamics 365 Business Central 2024 release wave 2 is generally available.
Scope of minor version 25.2
Information about the update and the scope of changes included in minor version 25.2 can be found in the documentation: Update 25.2 for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central online 2024 release wave 2 ↗. The list of hotfixes included in the update can be found in the Microsoft support entry (link ↗).
E-file IRS 1099 forms without integration
For US customers using the new IRS 1099 module in BC, which was introduced in the 2024 release wave 1 (version 24), minor version 25.2 allows for electronic filing of IRS 1099 forms even without direct integration with the IRIS portal (link ↗).
External service providers for e-documents
Among the changes in the minor version 25.2 is the addition to BC of more external service providers for e-document exchange, this time for Germany – format Peppol BIS3 or XRechnung (link ↗) and Spain – format Peppol BIS3 or FacturaE (link ↗). This complements the list of service providers introduced with the previous update – minor version 25.1.
New installation path in 25.2
Minor version 25.2 includes internal database schema changes with the following consequences:
- New platform version appears – 25.2 instead of 25.0,
- Different installation path than 25.0 and 25.1. Instead of using folder “250”, components are installed in folder “252”, e.g.:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central\252
Future minor version (25.3, 25.4, etc.) will also use platform version 25.2 and installation path with folder “252”.
Hotfixes
Some hotfixes for version 25.2, that is worth noting, among others:
- fix for the bug that caused the deployment of the PTE extension to fail due to a timeout.
- fixing the incorrect posting date value displayed in views switched to analysis mode.
- fix for the error causing incomplete VAT entries when unapplying a payment for multiple invoices,
and others (link ↗).

Business Central on-premises
For on-premises environments, minor version 25.2 is now available for download from the Microsoft Download Center as a DVD image for all localization versions released by Microsoft: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central 25.2 on-premises DVD image ↗.
