The update with minor version 26.1 for the Dynamics 365 Business Central 2025 release wave 1 is generally available.
Scope of minor version 26.1
Information about the update and the scope of changes included in minor version 26.1 can be found in the documentation: Update 26.1 for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central online 2025 release wave 1 ↗. The list of hotfixes included in the update can be found in the Microsoft support entry (link ↗).
Feature changes
Minor version 26.1 introduces a few features announced for the 2025 release wave 1 that weren’t included in version 26.0. These are:
- support for automated testing of functions based on Copilot within the Business Central Test Toolkit (link ↗),
- a set of new features and changes within the e-documents functionality (list on the page providing update details ↗),
- in sustainability management, a new category for emission scopes – out of scope (link ↗),
- changes in the user interface aimed at better utilizing screen space (link to the announced description ↗).
Hotfixes
The above feature changes are not all. Minor versions primarily introduce hotfixes. Minor version 26.1 is no exception and delivers an impressive list of fixes – 16 platform fixes and 55 application fixes (link ↗).
Personally, my attention was caught by:
- improvement of reservation handling when changing the production order status from Firm Planned to Released (569306),
- improvements in handling the FEFO method in warehouse operations using an alternative unit of measure (568026, 574570),
- … and a few others!
