The update with minor version 25.3 for the Dynamics 365 Business Central 2024 release wave 2 is generally available.
Scope of minor version 25.3
Information about the update and the scope of changes included in minor version 25.3 can be found in the documentation: Update 25.3 for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central online 2024 release wave 2 ↗. The list of hotfixes included in the update can be found in the Microsoft support entry (link ↗).
Chat with Copilot not only for US
With the minor version 25.3, Chat with Copilot feature is now available also outside the US in the following countries and regions:
Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, Georgia, Gibraltar, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Moldova, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, United States, Vatican City.
As reported by MS, the feature is still supported only in English. Although it can be used in other languages, it may not function as expected. Language quality may vary depending on user interaction or system settings, which can affect the accuracy of responses and the overall user experience.
Configuration packages for setup and evaluation data
Configuration packages containing Cronus demo data or preset settings that used to run in the background when creating a new company in BC will now be entirely replaced by the Contoso Coffee demo data extension (link ↗). The Contoso Coffee demo data app will no longer merely complement the missing data in the configuration packages for the Manufacturing, Warehouse, and Service areas. The range of data served by the application will now cover the entire system, including areas previously covered by the configuration packages.
Starting with minor version 25.3, when creating a new company using the Create New Company action, the system will check if the Contoso Coffee demo data extension is installed, and then display a list of demo data or setting areas that we can choose to import (link ↗).
Hotfixes
As always, it’s also worth reviewing the list of hotfixes that were implemented by Microsoft for version 25.3 (link ↗).

New environments for BC online will now automatically launch on version 25.3. Existing BC online environments will receive an update to minor version 25.3 in accordance with the current and updated in the version major 25 major version and minor version update policy for BC online environments ↗. Notification recipients set in the Business Central admin center under the Notification Recipients section will receive an e-mail informing them when the update will be available for their environment, along with a specified update window (as part of the preview version of the new update policy changes introduced in the 2024 release wave 2, the update window will be 5 months for Microsoft localized versions; the transition from preview to general availability is currently planned for March 2025 – until then, the update window for Partner localized versions should stay 60 days).
Business Central on-premises
For on-premises environments, minor version 25.3 is now available for download from the Microsoft Download Center as a DVD image for all localization versions released by Microsoft: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central 25.3 on-premises DVD image ↗.
Different installation path since version 25.2
For on-premises deployments, remember the new installation path since minor version 25.2, which can be important for updates, etc.
